Organizing Department
UFCW 5’s
Organizing Department is comprised of a group of
talented and dedicated individuals committed to bringing
the benefits of unionism to workers who are currently
without it. Local 5’s organizers are members out of the
stores, plants and fields, community activists and
professional staff.
The
department has run many successful campaigns in the
dairy, agricultural and packing industry bringing scores
of new workers under
the banner of Local 5. Additionally, they have built inroads
into the thriving Mercado industry. All of these activities took place
alongside organizing drives in the traditional grocery,
warehouse, drug and non-food retail.
